You can't, for example, charge different prices to different theaters. You can't charge different fees for different customers.

Other companies cannot also sell your services.

What is the difference in a distributor and a producer?

A producer creates the movie. The distributor distributes the movie. A distributor can distribute the movie to theaters or other companies such as Netflix. Distributors buy movies from producers. They then make them available for sale to theaters as well cable channels and streaming services.

Distributors should negotiate with theater owners regarding where their movies are playing. This could mean that certain theaters may charge more for a particular movie than others. If you want your movie to be seen by as many people as possible, you should choose a distributor with many theaters.

How many theaters are necessary to make my investment back?

It depends on how much time you intend to keep your theatrical release running.

If you're planning to run your film for less than two weeks, you only need to open one theater.

Two theaters are required if your film will be shown for more than two weeks.
